mTrial can help teachers save time with
recording and reporting data. See what school teachers are saying about mTrial:
Dear Dr. [removed]
I wanted to email you about a product I
discovered over the break. You have been to enough of my meetings to know
that I like to keep accurate and effective data on my students. I have been
looking for a software program that would help with data collection from
start to finish. I was hoping to find something that could go on a portable
device that would not only help collect the data but also graph it for me. I
looked at several different programs that could do this with behavioral data
but seemingly not with academic data. Then I came across a program called
mTrial. I have only just begun using it but I am so excited about its
potential to benefit my students and myself! This program is designed to be
installed on a Palm so you can take it anywhere with you. It allows you to
input curriculum areas, prompts that you will use during instruction, and
behaviors that the student exhibits. When you start a session and begin
taking academic data, there is a button labeled behavior that you can press
and then select the behavior and either track it by duration or occurrence.
I can not begin to explain everything this program has to offer but if you
are coming to my meeting I am hoping that I will be able to show it to you!

The Fairfield School District in
Connecticut recently adopted mTrial as their data collection system for
their autism education program.
- The actual software component has been
great!
- It fits in well with the current data
collection method these students are using.
- I am feeling confident in my ability in
entering program changes (new programs, changing SD's, targets, etc.)
- Three support staff members are now capable
of the PC component of the program as well. They were able to learn from my
demonstration in less than an hour.
- All the staff have been able to learn the
data entry into the Palm with one training session (remember all of these
persons have at least four months previous data collection training that was
formally entered into the program books). It was merely a transfer of the same
skills onto the Palm.
- Because there is the ability to develop the
student specific programs, I am trialing the programs capacity to include
academic components as well. (ex. Regular education K assessments 'name
removed' required for report cards, DRAs, etc) If this continues to be
successful I would like to review this for extending which students mTrial
will benefit.
- I am still getting playing around with the
graphing component. It is a GREAT time saver and will be reviewing what has
been generated with
'name removed' after break to get his input.
I continue to be excited by mTrial and thank-you all for your support and
consideration in making this a component for our SSCs!
