When recording data during a session, you may record a “prompted” response by tapping the “P” button. When you do this, mTrial allows you to record what the prompt was; for example, you may want to note that you prompted the student by pointing to the Target.

When you tap the “P” button, a window will open, and there will be room for you to write a small amount of text that describes the prompt (Figure 13.16), then tap OK to close the window.

mTrial stores the 10 most recent Prompt notes in a menu that you can use speed note taking.

You can use the Preferences screen (Figure 13.17) to determine whether you want the Prompt window to open automatically after you record a prompted response.

If the second box has a check in it, The Prompt window will open immediately after you record a “P” as a trial response. If it doesn’t have a check in it, Figure 13.16 will not open after you record a “P” as a trial response.
