Choose Preferences... from the Options menu to set tutor-specific preferences (Figure 15.9 and 15.10).

At the Preferences screen, tap the Auto-open button to go to the Auto-open Preferences window. At the Auto-open Preferences screen, tap the Main button to go to the Preferences window.

Keep Same Session type?

Check this box if you want mTrial to use the same session type after you end a session. You can always manually change the session type, but if you find yourself using the same session type from session to session, it may be helpful to leave this checked.

Confirm End of session

Check this box is you want a confirmation message to appear when you finish a session.

Set mTrial as Default program

Check this box if you want mTrial to be the program that is opened when you press any of the physical buttons on the Palm handheld.

Minimum trials per session

Set this number to the minimum number of trials you want to record in a session. If you try to end a session with fewer recorded trials than the minimum set here, you'll get an error message (which you can override).

Flag mastered items in menus

Check this box if you want mastered items to appear in the Select Acquisition Target screen. Also, you can choose whether to show Mass Trial (MT) or Random Rotation (RR) mastered items in Mass Trial sessions and in Random Rotation sessions.

Auto-open Prompt window

Check this box if you want the Prompts note screen to automatically open after you type a “P” response. If the box is unchecked, the Prompts notes screen must be manually opened.

Auto-open Notes window

Check this box if you want the Notes screen to automatically open after you type an “I” response. If the box is unchecked, the Notes screen must be manually opened.

Auto-open Supervisor Notes window

Check this box if you want the Supervisor Notes note screen to automatically open after you tap the Begin Visit button at the Begin Visit screen.
