Mass Trial Mastery and Random Rotation reports enable agency personnel to see how students are performing in Mass Trial and Random Rotation sessions. Agency personnel can customize the criteria that are used to define Mastery.

In Figure 7.15, there are six areas of choices for generating a mastery report.

Figure 7.15 – Mastery Report Setup

Choose Report parameters... Options Description
Number of Tutors 1, 2, 3 This is the number of different tutors that must observe mastery, using the same Acquisition Target. The greater the number, the less likely it may be for a student to achieve mastery.
Consecutive sessions in a visit 1, 2, 3 This is the number of consecutive sessions in a visit where the percent correct for an Acquisition Target must be greater than or equal to the Mastery Level.
Minimum number of days between visits 0-7  This is the minimum number of days between visits by a tutor, where a student may demonstrate mastery. For example, if this value is set to “0”, the different tutors may observe mastery in the same day. If this value is set to “1” the different tutors must observe mastery on different days.
Maximum number of days 2-10 This is the maximum number of days between visits by a tutor, where a student may demonstrate mastery. For example, if this value is set to “2”, different tutors must observe mastery within a two-day span.
Minimum number of AT trials in a session 1-15 Students may not achieve Mastery in a Session that contains fewer Acquisition Target (AT) trials than the number selected here.
Minimum number of Trials in a session 1-15 Students may not achieve Mastery in a Session that contains fewer trials than the number selected here. (This applies to only Random Rotation Mastery reports.)

Target Mastery and Sd Description
Display Target Mastery separately for individual Sd items Set this option to “Yes” if you want the definition of mastery to recognize the different Sd items used in combination with an Acquisition Target. For example, the combination of “Point to the_.” and “Pen” is treated differently than the combination of “Pick up the _.” and “Pen” because the Sd’s are different. So, each of the two combinations may have different mastery events associated with them.

Set this option to “No” if you want the definition of mastery to ignore the Sd items used in combination with an Acquisition Target. For example, the combination of “Point to the_.” and “Pen” is treated the same as the combination of “Pick up the _.” and “Pen” because the Acquisition Target is the same for both and the difference in the Sd’s is ignored.

Time Constraints Description
For Targets mastered more than... mTrial allows you to either exclude from the mastery report, or highlight within the mastery report, targets that were previously mastered. You can choose a time range between 2 weeks and 24 months. The check box must be checked for this constraint to be applied to the mastery report.
When determining mastery... mTrial also allows you to search all sessions for a student, or begin searching on a specific date.

Sort data by: Description
Date Choose this option to sort by date all the Mastery events for a selected student. The results will be displayed in reverse chronological order, with the most recent events displayed first.
Curriculum Area Choose this option to sort by Curriculum Area all the Mastery events for a selected student. The results will be displayed in alphabetically, by Curriculum Area.

If you select a Student Account that is unregistered, and try to generate a Mastery report that is sorted by Curriculum Area, you will see a message that indicates that the report will contain a maximum of two Curriculum Areas (Figure 7.16). There is no restriction on generating reports for registered Student Accounts.
