Click New on the right side of the Add New Curriculum Area window to add a new Sd. This Sd will be uniquely associated with the Curriculum Area you’re adding. You will prompted in a small window to provide a name for the new Sd (Figure 2.8). In this example, the new Sd is “Where is the _?” Click OK to accept the name of the new Sd and click Cancel to close the window without adding the new Sd.
Figure 2.8 – New Sd Dialog BoxOnce an Sd is added to a new Curriculum Area, the Add New Curriculum Area window will appear as in Figure 2.9.

You will be prompted in a small window asking if you want to delete the selected Sd (Figure 2.10). Click OK to delete the Sd and click Cancel to close the window without deleting the Sd.

A small window (Figure 2.11) will appear where you can rename the Sd. Click OK to accept the new name of the Sd or click Cancel to close the window without renaming the Sd.
Figure 2.11 – Rename Sd Dialog BoxAfter you provide a Curriculum Area name, a Mastery Level, a Target and an Sd, you can save the new Curriculum Area.
Save a new Curriculum Area by clicking Save at the bottom of the Add New Curriculum Area window. Discard the new Curriculum Area by clicking Cancel at the bottom of the Add New Curriculum Area window.
After you save a new Curriculum Area, you may not delete nor rename the Curriculum Area, any of its Targets, or any of its Sd items. You will be able to set the status to either Active or Inactive. As you will see in the next section, you will be able to add new Targets and new Sd items to existing Curriculum Areas.
