mTrial® is a data collection software suite that runs on a PC and on Palm handhelds. The first half of this document (chapters 1-9) deal with mTrial on the PC; chapters 10-19 deal with mTrial on the Palm handheld.

This document assumes that mTrial is already installed on a Windows®-based computer that meets the minimum specifications (see Chapter 20).

On the PC, use mTrial to manage three main components of the Discrete Trial Method process:

• Content (Curriculum Areas, Targets, Sd items, and Behaviors),
• People (students, tutors, and supervisors), and
• Reports

Each of these three main components is introduced briefly in this chapter and discussed in detail in the chapters that follow.
