Important Information About Student IDs

The choice of a Student ID is very important. There are four things to keep in mind when selecting a Student ID.

  1. No two Student Accounts in mTrial can have the same Student ID.
  2. The Student ID, and not the student’s name, is used at the top of reports. Choose a Student ID that will identify the student; avoid creating cryptic Student IDs, such as “user5562”.
  3. After you choose a Student ID and create an account, use the same Student ID to when creating a User name in the Palm Desktop Software and use the same Student ID for mTrial.
  4. There are certain rules when creating a Student ID: (a) a valid Student ID may contain only: letters from the English alphabet, numbers, spaces, hyphens, and apostrophes, (b) a valid Student ID may not: begin or end with a space, contain consecutive spaces, contain consecutive hyphens, or contain consecutive apostrophes, and (c) a valid Student ID may be up to only 20 characters long. If you attempt to create a Student ID that does not meet the above requirements, you will receive and error message and you will not be allowed to add the Student Account.
